Murali Jasti, one of the firm’s founding partners, has extensive experience as a criminal defense lawyer. Attorney Jasti earned his undergraduate degree in political science and business administration from Trinity University in 2001 before obtaining his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in 2004. Shortly after graduating, Attorney Jasti began working for the Wisconsin State Public Defender, where he developed a passion for defending those accused of crimes. In 2016, he joined Attorney Payal Khandhar to found Jasti & Khandar, bringing his experience and dedication to his clients in private practice. After Attorney Khandhar was appointed to the bench, the newly established law firm of Jasti, Zehawi & Johnson was established in August 2024.
Dailey Johnson, another esteemed partner at the firm, began his legal career after completing his law degree at Marquette University Law School in 2018, having previously graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2015. Since earning his law degree and passing the bar exam, Attorney Johnson has established himself as a formidable advocate for his clients, securing many dismissals and acquittals in numerous serious felony cases.
The Super Lawyers Selection Process
The Super Lawyers selection process is a rigorous, multi-step evaluation designed to identify the best attorneys across the country. Each year, the organization selects only five percent of the lawyers in each state for inclusion in the Super Lawyers list.
The process begins with nominations from peers or identification by the Super Lawyers research team. Once the nominees are selected, Super Lawyers’ research department evaluates each attorney based on 12 key indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition, such as verdicts, settlements, pro bono work, and bar activity.
A blue ribbon panel then evaluates candidates based on their practice area on a scale of one to five. The attorneys with the highest ratings in each practice area make the Super Lawyers list, though the panel separates nominees according to firm size so attorneys are compared to their peers.
This is Attorney Jasti’s third straight year of being selected to the Super Lawyers list.
The Rising Stars Selection Process
The Rising Stars list follows the same rigorous selection process, but eligibility is limited to attorneys who are either 40 years old or younger or have been practicing for 10 years or less. These rising stars represent the top two-and-a-half percent of attorneys in each state. Attorney Dailey Johnson’s inclusion on this list highlights his outstanding accomplishments and potential to continue growing in his legal career.
